Breaking from Maple…
After hitting 140, I told myself I’d market to get skills and better gear… At first I had no motivation to get back to training, other shadowers inflated the price of crucial skills, and the economy got screwed over by MTS. Atleast when gacha came out, people still had to work a tiny bit to convert money to mesos, and mesos to gear. Now people can just get mommy’s credit card, and buy godly gear. Being the gamer that I am, I wanted to find a new game to play…
After my experience with Maple, I knew I didn’t wanna dedicate my time to another Nexon game, so that ruled on Mabinogi. I’ve also played FlyFF before, and wasn’t really impressed with it. I’ve dabbled on WoW as well, but it wasn’t community based enough for me. I finally stumbled upon Rose Online, and after putting in hours of training / questing and reading up on character builds, I’m extremely impressed with the game. There is a monthly fee, but it’s free to download, and they do offer 7 days free. It still seems cheaper to play this, with one flat rate, rather than dressing up a maple avatar and paying for a pet.
Anyways, this is really only a break from maple, although the game has been destroyed by the company hosting it, I still have my friends on it. If anyone wants to join me on Rose, that’d be super. Check it out on youtube.

Hey Joe!
I’m not surprised that people have a bitter taste in their mouth from most MMOs, because most of them are just out for money and would prefer that over positive customer feedback/experience.
It’s shocking what a lot of businesses can get away with nowadays … makes me not want to become a corporate whore, lol. But money does make the world go around! I’m just hoping that a few years down the line, I’m going to value time with my family/friends much more than extra work & bonuses. I’m just not the kind of person that is comfortable with fucking people over for money.
Taking a break from Maple helps you, I quit cold-turkey for 3 months and I’m back now enjoying it. Not that interested in grinding, but 4th job is pretty appealing.
Drop me a line sometime.
Hey Panjos
I had the exact same plans as you. Get to 140 and just relax a bit, market for money, enjoy the aspect of the game while I get my schoolwork and exam materials ready and etc. I think the MTS has several ups and downs. I really don’t like how rich kids can do little work and get really good equips. For ex. there are 17atk 1 slot SCG on MTS for $600 and there were perfectly scrolled YSS for $300+. Any rich kid can become “good” at the game because of this new function. It does give some more unfortunate people an opportunity to enjoy the benefits of NX.
I think you’re right about the whole quitting etc. You’re temporary breaks seems permanent while I’m already faltering on my commitment to quit. Whatever happens, wishing the best for you man. Hopefully, Rose Online is better than whatever MS has become.
